About Me
Mustafa Kemal Sezgintürk is a Professor in the Bioengineering Department at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University where he has been a faculty member since 2016. Sezgintürk completed his Ph. D. at Biochemistry Department of Ege Univesity in 2007, his M.Sc. at Biochemistry Department of Ege Univesity in 2002 and his undergratuate from Chemistry Department of Ege University in 1998.
His research interests lie in the area of biochemistry, electrochemical and mass based biosensors, cancer biomarkers, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and Lateral Flow Assays (LFAs). Professor Sezgintürk has more than 160 publications and his works are referred over 5400 times in refereed journals, in the field of biosensors, and a Hirsch Index of 38. He edited the first extended and updated book on the field of commercial biosensors (Commercial Biosensors and Their Applications: Clinical, Food, and Beyond, Elsevier, 2020) and founded the national Congress on Biosensors at 2014.
He has supervised 5 PhD students and 19 Master dissertations in Turkey. Professor Sezginturk also successfully coordinated several scientific projects such as TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), BAP (Projects of Scientific Investigation), so on and so forth. In 2016, He has won the Awards for Outstanding Young Scientist (TÜBA-GEBİP), which is one of the prestigious scientific award. Additionally, as a result of the work he carried out within the scope of advanced research projects, four patents were registered.
